2-Time Olympian Nate Brannen Inspires Chagrin Falls Corss Country
Canadian Nate Brannen recently visited Chagrin Falls High School to inspire the cross country team. Nate and Coach Clay met about one year ago at a road race at Amherst High School, the alma mater of his wife, Theresa.
Nate started by discussing how he got into running and then talked about his high school, collegiate and professional experiences as the students interacted and asked questions throughout the dialogue. Highlights included the goals that keep him inspired, his relationship with his coaches, his race day routine, his favorite workouts and even what his recently born daughter was going to be for her first Halloween.
Here are some of our favorite quotes from the conversation:
"That was what got me started... these small goals... I just kept making my goals a little bit tougher each time. The thing that separates the best from good is setting goals and never being satisfied."
- "Believe in what you're doing"
- "Of course I got back up"
Nate was kind enough to allow us to shoot video of the interview. CFXC Senior Ross Newbauer will be editing the video for publishing on FloTrack within the next week.
Stay tuned for video clips of Nate's talk with CFXC!
